Partner Families
Our Partner Families are not only the reason we exist, they are an essential part of the work we do. Each Habitat Homeowner is committed to partnership with our organization, and takes a hands-on role in the home-ownership process. Homeowners contribute sweat equity service hours toward the projects that benefit them and their community. They, too, are committed to our mission, and agree to contribute volunteer hours that support our operations and programs.
We have Partner Families in each of our program areas.
- New Construction homeowners
- Playhouse donation beneficiaries
- Home Preservation homeowners
- Community members in our Neighborhood Revitalization initiative areas

We develop relationships that connect social responsibility with business objectives.
No matter how our partners choose to contribute, they will make a lasting impact in the cause of local affordable housing. What’s more, they can achieve personal or corporate goals for social responsibility, team building, and community engagement. Our partners lay the foundation upon which we build homes, community, and hope in San Luis Obispo County.
- Tax Deductible – Habitat for Humanity SLO County is a registered 501(c)3 organization and your donation may be tax deductible.
- Co-branding and awareness – We can help your business build awareness and trust by using our platforms and connections as a reputable, globally recognized brand to reach other like-minded companies and people.
- Building strength – Research shows homeowners are more likely to be engaged in civic, local, or political activities. Individual homeowners amass more wealth than renters, and wealth tends to increase with each year of homeownership.
- Building stability – Partner families benefit from stabilized housing costs, which allows them to reliably invest in their health, education, and savings, building wealth and stability that will support their families and benefit our community.
- Building self-reliance – Habitat Homeowners are active partners in the construction of their homes, building skills they will use as they continue to live in and maintain their homes.
- Building shelter – In 2020 Habitat reported that 35 million people globally have partnered with us to access new or improved housing since 1976.
- Building community – By supporting our work, you’re building a culture of social responsibility in our community.
